PERFEX™ is the one and only computer-assisted interpretation tool for myocardial perfusion SPECT studies, developed by Ernest V. Garcia, Ph.D, Emory University School of Medicine.

It's a fast, easy-to-use tool to assist the trained nuclear physician to interpret at a faster rate.

PERFEX™ also serves as a valuable second reader to help the new nuclear cardiologist identify nuclear cardiology artifacts like heart/patient motion, diaphragmatic or breast attenuation and incorrect reconstruction.

How PERFEX™ works

Developed from 461 patient studies, employing 253 heuristic rules and validated against 655 prospective patients   PERFEX™ uses the certainty of the location, size shape and reversibility of the perfusion defects to infer the certainty of the presence and location of the coronary artery disease.   The algorithm searches a library of patient cases to find the ones that best match those of the patient being analyzed.
