Course Description
This one-day course familiarizes
participants with the current state of brain
PET and its application to the diagnosis of
neurosurgical/neurologic and psychiatric
disease. The program focuses on clinically
established uses of FDG PET, including its
role in evaluation and management of
epilepsy, brain tumors, and especially
Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
Technical aspects unique to brain PET are
explained and diagnostic approaches that
allow identification of early neurologic
disease are examined. More didactic
presentations in the morning are
complemented by extensive group discussion
of clinical case studies and practical
issues in the afternoon. Expert instruction
on how to optimize processing and
interpretation for FDG-PET brain studies
